Habari za miaka mengi sana. What fantasic news…great to hear that the Pemba Flying Fox is thriving and the people of Pemba have embrassed their co-habitants on the island. I remember the bats and the people from my time there in 1995 and hope one day to return and see this fantastic outcome myself.

Thats good that you can study them and show the rest of the world how great they are. I’ll just say this, in the last pic. those bats looked huge. I don’t think i could see them in person. so thanks for doing that for us, and tacking such great pics.

Glad to hear of the increased attention. Hopefully the film crew will be able to visit and capture some fantastic shots. People need to see the great diversity of life in order to appreciate it and to support conservation in general. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your responses, we are so happy about this.We have some representatives attending a fruit bat workshop next week and it will be a great learning experience. We can look into how other sites with fruit bats are working. Thank you for your support.

Congratulations to all of you, thank you for this good news post! I”d love to see photos of some of the bat subjects and the people whoa re doing so much, and I’m curious about how you can replicate this success to other bat sites. Keep up the posting, this is such an important project.
